With marketing staff based offshore, this Motueka company continues to expand and operates a highly automated packing facility using the world’s leading technology. The company is now seeking a highly motivated Safety and Compliance Manager who cansupport the company’s drive to continually build the right safety and quality culture acrossorchard operations. You will need to have a good grounding in people and safety management in areas like systems improvement, risk analysis, reporting and SOP oversight plus have a high skill level in using a wide range of MS Office software tools and databases. The successful candidate will ideally have sound experience in developing and maintainingquality systems and processes in the primary production sector in fruit or similar exportsincluding auditing and applying and maintaining regulatory body standards. Applicants with a Diploma in Occupational Health and Safety Management or similar would be of particular interest. You will be joining a progressive business, and we are looking for candidates who have theright balance between thinking commercially whilst ensuring the company’s values andcompliance programmes are adhered to. There will also be plenty of variety in this new role for an energetic practitioner with a “can-do attitude”. The successful candidate will also have a strong focus on delivering practical safety and compliance solutions that help look after people and product. The company also holds an extensive property portfolio so the successful candidate will also have the opportunity to add value to the business by supporting the Commercial Manager in managing building compliance and certifications. You will be a passionate safety and quality compliance performer with exceptionalcommunication skills who can quickly become a key influencer in the business to helpmaintain the company’s international brand reputation in terms of quality and servicedelivery. Experience in workforce cultural diversity is also a key requirement of this position as Birdhurst is a member of the Government’s RSE scheme and you will work closely with the company’s pastoral care team.
